You are gone but still here... Satoshi Kon

The Passing of a Great Artist... My Inspiration
By now you might have heard about Satoshi Kon's passing. It came as a GREAT SHOCK to me since he was (and still is) the director I admired the most. I still remember the first time I was exposed to his greatness while watching 'Perfect Blue' and the tears I cried when Chiyoko took off in her final voyage in 'Millennium Actress', not to mention the thrills and emotions I received while watching other pieces made by him as well as many of other directors' films which he involved in (such as Roujin-Z).

Although you might have passed from this world, but your great influences are still here inspiring and driving newer generations of artists forward.

May you rest in peace, the great Satoshi Kon.

As long as you enjoy his movie, I think that is what matters for an artist

R.I.P! Manga is not what it use to be back in the days... I grew up as an otaku, I knew the time when being otaku was something "weird", I had to buy manga in japanese, go to the japanese store, I was treated like a shit by my art teachers because I was drawing manga.. today it has changed, everybody loves it, but I don't feel like the quality is till there, so many commercial shits... Sure artists like Satoshi Kon will be missed!

Definitely, although manga and anime are considered cool these days, I still have the feeling that I'm still the 'weird' ones mainly because I still like to read/watch old-fashioned ones from artists like Tetsuo Hara, Katsuhiro Otomo and the late Satoshi Kon...

Now I just need to improve my manga (or art in general) skill, it's better to be the weird one with skill, I think.

Thanks for sharing though.
