Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang.

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Greetings! Finally back from hibernation (more like isolation)

A lot had been going on with life (personal and work), it was so busy that I couldn't even give myself fraction of time to draw and make my 3D pieces I always wanted to do... now I'm back into the community but I will need some more time to readjust myself back into creation mode.

I noticed there were quite some comments and watches given to me while I was away, I'd love to say 'Thank you' for all your supports, kind words and critiques here right in this journal since I do not think I can backtrack and reply to all those comments or respond to all who had added me to their watchlists... but I'm really grateful for all your voices.

Now I just need to get to work and hopefully I can have something new in a month (may be?)
